No Changes on LDN 2mg

I started a round of low-dose Naltrexone a month ago, with zero improvements so far.

Currently, I’m at 2mg. I will try 3mg for two weeks, then go up to 4mg. If there is still no improvement on 4mg, I will discontinue LDN.

No Improvement After 2 Weeks

After 2 weeks of the following supplements, no noticeable improvement is present.

350 mg Calcium Dilactate
100 mg Elemental Calcium
500 mg Gluconic Acid
1,000 mg Liposomic Vitamin C

I was hoping for at least a tiny improvement, but I will need to be more patient!

Naltrexone May Help Darier’s and Hailey-Hailey Disease

Recently I’ve been reading more medical texts stating that Naltrexone is extremely effective in treating both Hailey-Hailey disease and Darier-White disease. Apparently very low doses (1mg-3mg/day) are being used in clinical trials and showing success.

Naltrexone is normally used to treat opioid dependence, so this is really odd. But with the low risk of side effects, it might be worth trying.

No Improvement Noticeable After 1 Week

After 1 week of the following supplements, no noticeable improvement is present.

350 mg Calcium Dilactate
100 mg Elemental Calcium
500 mg Gluconic Acid
1,000 mg Liposomic Vitamin C

I’m expecting nothing to improve for at least a month, since skin lesions can take a long time to heal.

Things I’m Currently Trying

Since Darier’s Disease is a “calcium transport” disease, I’ve decided to try specific calcium supplements.  Our bodies don’t metabolize calcium properly due to the gene defect that causes DD.

As of August 2018, I am trying the following daily in a liquid form:

350 mg Calcium Dilactate
100 mg Elemental Calcium
500 mg Gluconic Acid
1,000 mg Liposomic Vitamin C

I’m spreading this dose out by around 1/3 over the course of the day, to maximize absorption. I’ll update weekly with progress.

Lotions I’ve Tried To Help With Darier’s Disease

100,000 IU Vitamin A Cream – Helped soften the lesions and improve them a bit. Not a “cure” though.

Epsom Salt Lotion – helped with itching. Made lesions very dry and crusty.

Neem Oil – no improvement and terrible smell.

Differin Gel – no improvement or worsening. Seems ineffective.

ProActiv Acne Creams – no improvement and caused irritation.

Prescriptions I’ve Tried To Treat Darier’s Disease

Tazarotene – a cream that helped “shed” the excess skin, but can cause rashes and the lesions always came back as soon as I stopped using it.

Isotretinoin – a pill, extremely dangerous, that “cured” the symptoms, not the root cause.  Also caused severe depression and I had to stop using it.  Also many other side effects – painfully chapped lips, burning eyes, depression, etc.

Laser therapy – worked on some lesions, but not others. Also extremely painful despite what the doctor says.  … Read More
